Experience, background and philosophy

Dr Peter Frost has enjoyed a rich and varied career that has included senior leadership positions in education, public administration, international development and in integrity bodies. This has included experience as a Deputy Vice Chancellor, Special Adviser on Public Sector Reform at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, consultant to the World Bank and Asian Development Bank and, as CEO and Deputy Auditor-General, overseeing more than 200 performance audits of government bodies.

He has encountered remarkable people and organisations in many first and third world cultures, and one of his most fulfilling roles was directing the Tsunami Reconstruction Project for Sri Lanka: rehousing 250 families, building secondary and technical schools and 3 hospital operating theatres and training emergency care doctors and nurses. Later, he was one of the first 3 independent administrators appointed to assess applications for redress under the Commonwealth's Scheme following its Royal Commission into Sexual Abuse.

Throughout his career, Peter has always borne in mind E.M. Forster's dictum: Only Connect. This philosophy lies at the heart of NIODA's work.
