Experience Organisation Dynamics

Large Study Group Sessions

The large study group is one component of the first-year subject, ‘Unconscious Processes in  Groups and Systems’, in the NIODA Master of Leadership and Management (Organisation  Dynamics) course.

This subject offers intensive exploration of small and large group dynamics through a ‘study group’ methodology.  Across the semester the participant groups explore their own conscious and unconscious patterns of small and large group behaviour in the ‘here and now’ using group/system level analysis.  This approach presents participants with an in-depth opportunity to experience and analyse small and large group dynamics with reference to object relations and intersubjective conceptual frames and to apply their learnings to workplace dynamics.

The task of the large study group is to ‘study the dynamics of the group as they occur’.  Following the one hour of study group we will consider the experience with the aim of developing working hypotheses.  We will also discuss the large group readings and application of learning.  Readings will be sent to participants prior to the classes.

The study group will be held on two consecutive weeks 14th May and 21st May, 5.30-7.30pm.  There is no cost to participate, but please email Wendy Harding to register.

By inviting members of the NIODA community, such as yourselves, it is possible for the first year students to have this ‘large’ study group experience.
